May Philippine Monthly Tournament

Hi guys it's me again and I am here to post my tournament report for our monthly tournament.I decided to use Chaos Dragons since I was able to borrow a play set of Tour Guides and also because I am tired of using Inzektors in every tournament.

Format: Open Tournament (Promos and All cards are allowed as long as it's original)
5 rounds of swiss

Round 1 vs Abe (Vayu Turbo)

Game 1:He started with summoning Dark Grepher then tossed Vayu from his hand and a Sirocco to his graveyard.I started with setting Eclipse Wyvern and ended. On his turn he summoned Armageddon Knight and sent Plaguespreader Zombie then he used Vayu's effect to special summon a Blackwing Armed Wing from his extra deck then he attacked with all his monsters and I took a 4000 damage in a single turn.In his 2nd main phase he summoned Utopia and used Plaguespreader Zombie to synchro summon Infernity Doom Dragon and he set a card on his graveyard.Next turn I summoned Tour Guide and he used Solemn Warning to negate it's effect then I summoned Dark Flare Dragon removing Eclipse Wyvern and Tour Guide, then I discarded Eclipse Wyvern and sent a Dark Flare Dragon from my deck to remove his Armed Wing in the graveyard.I forgot what happened next but on that turn I was able to summon an Exa-beetle to get rid of his Utopia and I was able to summon Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon with Light Pulsar Dragon on the field and on his next turn he scoops.

Game 2:He started with setting 2 cards on his backrow and summoned Armageddon Knight sending Vayu to the Graveyard. On my Turn I summoned Lyla he used Solemn Warning to negate it's summon then used Monster Reborn to special summon Lyla and destroyed his 2nd backrow. Then I activated Future Fusion and won during that turn.

Round 2 vs I forgot your name sorry (Machina Gadget with cool side deck)

Game 1:He was able to summon Machina Fortress on his 2nd turn.I was able to activate 2 Solar Recharges and I summoned Dark Flare Dragon and removed his other Machina Fortress in his GY and I removed my Dark Flare Dragon and special Summoned Red Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon from my hand and it special summoned Light Pulsar Dragon from my Graveyard, next I special summoned Chaos Sorcerer from my hand and removed his on field Machina Fortress. On his turn he just set 2 cards on the field and on my turn I took game 1.

Game 2:He set 2 cards backrow and I used Heavy storm and I played Solar Recharge discarded Lyla and played Charge of Light Brigade to add another Lyla.I summoned Light Pulsar Dragon and a Lyla then attack directly. On his turn he used Future Fusion and sent 5 dragons LOL and he misplayed when he forgot to add Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon to his hand via Eclipse Dragon's effect and he ended with a field of Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon,Light Pulsar Dragon and Dark Armed Dragon. On my turn I needed something to get rid all of his monsters and I topped Black Luster Soldier Envoy of the Beginning LOL and I played Monster Reborn to special summon Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon in the graveyard and I special summoned my Light Pulsar Dragon and he scoops.

Round 3 vs Russel Daliwan (Chaos Dragons)
Game 1:I set Eclipse Wyvern and ended. Then he opened Future Fusion + BLS >_>
Game 2:Same with Game 1 >_>

Round 4 vs Jeff (Whirlwind Blackwings)
Game 1:I started pressuring him with bigger monsters since Blackwings will struggle against big monsters.
Game 2:Lyla + future fusion = Game

Round 5 vs Esguerra (Dark World)
Game 1: He played 3 reckless greed so I decided to go to game 2 since I am down on card advantage and clearly he is on position to win the game.
Game 2: I used Heavy Storm on his backrow and swarmed with my big monsters. Also have a Gemini Imp to save my self Dragged Down.
Game 3:I MST'd his Skill Drain and removed all of his Grapha thanks to Black Luster Soldier Envoy of the Beginning.

So by the end of the swiss rounds I managed to get a score of 4-1 while waiting for the top 8 judges collected our decks for deck checking and many of the players got a game loss because of them not passing their decklists including Wslasher (because of a typo error )LOL.

Top 8 vs. Jomer Flores (Inzektor)
Game 1:I opened future fusion and won LOL.
Game 2:He opened with 3 Dimensional Fissure >_>. but he didn't have any monsters so I just beat him with tour guide and friends.

Top 4 vs Chito Racimo (Ninja Hieroglyph)
Game 1:I got OTK'd
Game 2:I took control of the game with Koaki Meiru Drago
Game 3:Misplay on my part coz got excited of drawing Future Fusion. I discarded my Chaos Sorcerer to summon Pulsar from my GY instead of the Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon >_>.

Even though I lost, I enjoyed playing with Chaos Dragons it really does fit my play style and also if your opponent can't protect himself from the massive swarming of your monsters he will die 2nd or 3rd turn.So to answer everyone's question if Tour Guide is really needed in the deck, my answer is yes because it forces your opponent to waste his cards just to prevent you from summoning a free 2500 beatstick or a zenmaines.

BTW here is the decklist that I have used:
Monsters 31:
3 Light Pulsar Dragon
3 Darkflare Dragon
3 Eclipse Wyvern
2 Card Trooper
3 Ryko
3 Lyla
3 Tour guide
1 Sangan
2 Chaos Sorcerer
1 Black Luster Soldier Envoy of the Beginning
1 Gorz
3 Effect Veiler
1 Dark Armed Dragon
2 Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon

Spells 9:
3 Solar Recharge
1 Future Fusion
1 Charge of the Light Brigade
1 Allure of darkness

Analysis on YCS Phily Finals match

It's been a while since I posted in this blog due to school stuff LOL.Anyways I just finished reading the featured match on the last YCS and I have seen so many misplays maybe because of fatigue, which I understand because they are playing for 2 days LOL, but we are here to learn so let's see what went wrong during the finals.

During Round 1 -
"Chen activated Allure of Darkness to draw 2 cards and banish a Tour Guide from his hand. Then he Normal Summoned a Tour Guide and used its effect to Special Summon a Sangan from his Deck. He activated Future Fusion next! He sent 2 copies of Eclipse Wyvern, Lightpulsar Dragon, Darkflare Dragon, and Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon from his Deck to his Graveyard so that he could Summon Five-Headed Dragon 2 turns later. Then he used his Wyverns’ effects to banish a Dark Armed Dragon and a Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon from his Deck. Next, he banished Eclipse Wyvern and Darkflare Dragon from his Graveyard to Special Summon Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning, and used his Wyvern’s effect to return Dark Armed Dragon from his Graveyard to his hand. Then, Chen combined his Sangan and Tour Guide to Summon Leviair the Sea Dragon, and detached a Sangan from it to activate its effect and Special Summon his banished Wyvern. He Special Summoned Dark Armed Dragon next. Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning attacked Eclipse Wyvern, and Martin discarded Honest from his hand to stay in the Duel!"

-Here we have read that Feng Chen didn't used Dark Armed Dragon's effect to get rid of Andrew Martin's Lyla which resulted to the destruction of Black Luster Soldier -Envoy of the Beginning by battle thanks to Honest. If he destroyed Lyla he could just attacked directly and wipe his opponent's life points that turn.
Always remember that if you over extend make sure that you will finish your opponent that turn, because if you don't he/she might be able to make a comeback when you gave your opponent an extra turn.Luckily for Feng Chen that didn't happened to him but if he lost because of that he will certainly not sleep for weeks thinking about that misplay.

During round 2 -
"Martin drew Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning next turn! He activated Monster Reborn to Special Summon Lightpulsar Dragon from his Graveyard and then banished Sangan and Effect Veiler from his Graveyard to Special Summon Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning. Martin attacked Chen’s Lightpulsar Dragon with his own, and Special Summoned Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon from his Graveyard with its effect. Chen had no DARK Dragons to Special Summon. Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon attacked directly, but Martin chose not attack with Black Luster Soldier, fearing Gorz. In his End Phase, Martin sent Lightpulsar Dragon, Jain, Lightsworn Paladin, and Solar Recharge from the top of his Deck to his Graveyard with Lyla’s effect.Chen activated Dark Hole to destroy Lyla, Red-Eyes, and Black Luster Soldier! He Set a monster before ending his turn."

-Here we have seen Martin drew BLS,he summoned it the same turn and made a good move by attacking his Pulsar on Chen's Pulsar which let Martin to summon Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon from his Graveyard and attack directly with it,then this is where the misplay happened:

1.)He did not attacked with his BLS because he is afraid of Gorz,IMO he should not summoned BLS if he will not even use it to attack.Everyone should remember when to use your power cards because it can help you turn the game around if used at the right time.

2.)In main phase 2 Martin did not used his  Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon's effect to special summon his Light Pulsar Dragon from the graveyard. In Chaos Dragons it is really important to keep on repeating the soft lock of Light Pulsar Dragon and  Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon if you could not go for the win on that turn since those guys just recycle each other most of the time.

The end result is Martin lost his entire field of LylaRed-Eyes, and Black Luster Soldier to Dark Hole,If he used  Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon's effect to special summon his Light Pulsar Dragon from the graveyard he would still have a Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon and ar Black Luster Soldier if he had held it for a while until it is needed. He could have won the 2nd game and maybe the entire match.Still I would like to congratulate both of them for topping a YCS since it is really difficult to top that event. So it is already Chaos Dragon's 2nd time winning YCS maybe Dino Rabbit's in TCG should main Macro Cosmos now in order to combat them. Here in our country it is hard to win with Chaos Dragons since most people here are using Macro Cosmos in Rabbit decks, some are using Kycoo or Dimensional fissure in their side which are difficult to answer even with all your spell and trap hate.
